Bottled Gas Price Capped at 900 TL

The cost of replacing an empty gas cylinder has increased.

In the Official Gazette No. 204, dated Wednesday, 14th October 2026, the Government has set a new 'maximum' selling price for bottled LPG. From Thursday, 15th October 2026, a standard 10kg cylinder must cost no more than 900 TL, including VAT. Local news organisations have reported that this represents an increase on the previous price.

What does a maximum selling price actually mean ?

900 TL is the maximum price that a retailer is permitted to charge for a standard 10kg cylinder - it isn't a minimum price. Some retailers may for example, choose to charge less - God Bless'em, but they definitely must not charge any more.

What about different cylinder sizes ?

Not everybody uses the standard 10kg cylinder. Some households and businesses use different sizes, so the regulations also establish a price ceiling based on the amount of LPG supplied which they have set at 90 TL per kilogram, including VAT.

Distributors and Retailers

The government has has alsom set prices for standard 10kg cylinders at different stages of the distribution chain :-

  • Importing company: 492.14286 TL, excluding VAT.

  • Distribution companies selling to principal dealers: 655 TL, including VAT.

  • Sales to dealers, markets and grocery shops: 850 TL, including VAT.

Another announcement about LPG

There is a second announcement worth mentioning too.

In the Official Gazette No. 205, published on Thursday, 15th October 2026, the Government amended the applicable Price Stabilisation Fund contribution on liquefied petroleum gas. They set this at 1.675 TL per kilogram. On a standard 10kg cylinder, that is equivalent to 16.75 TL.

What should customers check ?

For most people, the practical advice is fairly straightforward. When you next replace a 10kg gas cylinder, check the price that is being charged. If you're buying a different size, check the quantity of gas and make sure that you are not charged more than 90 TL per kg.

Nobody likes to see their hard earned money going up in smoke and as LPG is smokeless, you won't.
